A twin engine Beechcraft 76 that was being used for practicing takeoffs and landings at Pompano Beach Airpark crashed in a Pompano Beach neighborhood this week and injured three people who were in the aircraft. All of them suffered severe burns. Federal investigators are on the scene and have started their preliminary investigation. The plane clipped one house, set it on fire and jumped over another house before it came to a flaming halt in a private yard. It’s believed that the aircraft had just taken off. Two of the people in the plane were able to walk away from the scene while another may have been thrown from it. All of the occupants were transported to Broward Health Medical Center where they were hospitalized.
What’s beneficial for investigators in this crash is that there are three surviving witnesses who investigators believe might be able to relate exactly what happened before the plane crashed. What they say could be of great help in determining the cause of the accident along with identifying all potentially liable parties.
