Motorcyclist Killed in Fort Lauderdale Crash

A 26 year-old man named Guillermo Rodriguez died after his motorcycle collided with a truck. The accident occurred at Southeast Street and Federal Highway around 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2015. The police officers shut down the road in order to investigate the incident. The road was re-opened at 7 p.m.

Detective Kevin Dupree is investigating the crash. He has stated that no charges have been issued so far. Randy Pitcher, who is 70 years-old, stated that he was headed home with his wife when the accident occurred. They had just finished buying groceries. Randy stated that he was trying to turn left and saw two motorcycles. One of the motorcycles ran into him. He stated that he had no idea what happened to the other one.

Gianni Ramon was the other motorcyclist involved in the accident. He is 24 years-old. He stated that the truck was moving too slow, and it was nearly impossible to avoid it. Ramon stated that Rodriguez hit the bed of the truck. When the paramedics arrived on the scene, Rodriguez was unconscious. The ambulance took Rodriguez to the Broward County Health Medical Center.

Ramon was not injured in the accident. Pitcher and his wife had minor injuries. Rodriguez died shortly after he arrived at the hospital.
